Sydney Arts Guide review: “Captivating performances by the ensemble cast of six – an acting masterclass, totally engaging and thought provoking.”
THEM is the very believable story of resilience and growth, despite war related trauma. Set in a war-torn and war-weary country, located somewhere in the middle east, where they speak Arabic, and bombs constantly fall. Creating refugees is not war, rather it is a crime against humanity.
Us versus Them, each and every war, where male soldiers deliberately kill civilian women and children, is not war, it is genocide.
Price to escape the war is USD$1000.00 per person, and is payable for the dangerous boat journey provided by the people smugglers. Receive USD$1000.00 for selling each of your teenage daughters into arranged marriages.
Very entertaining war-time drama with tension-relieving comedy moments. So many clever touches, including the delicious idea to have live piano music played on the stage, during each set change.
A journey towards choosing escape, whilst still wrapped in despair and hope. Captivating performances by the ensemble cast of six – an acting masterclass, totally engaging and thought provoking. Highly Recommended.
